I remember an old Bugs Bunny cartoon from when I was a kid where a Humphrey Bogart like fellow asks Bugs, “Say, pardon me but, could you help out a fellow American who’s down on his luck?”

Like most fellow American youths of my day (long, long ago and far away… but that’s a different story!) my life was heavily influence by cartoons. We’d go to the theater and they would prelude the movie with a cartoon (now they prelude it with advertisements.) Afternoons when we got home there were cartoons on TV. The mainstay of the week was, of course, Saturday morning Cartoons!
Yesterday I had the intention of attending Cyphacon in Lake Charles, Louisiana but when I woke up at the crack of dawn, I was in pain, exhausted and motivation level -10 (situation normal.) Without any further Ado (besides a trip to the bathroom) I went back to bed. Upon awakening again at the crack of afternoon I went outside and chatted with my neighbors a bit before calling mom and letting her know I didn’t have the strength or ambition to make it to the con.
This morning, after a delightfully insightful dream, I woke at 4:30 a.m. full of energy and attitude. Someone must be praying for me! (Thanks mom!) Normally I don’t cosplay at conventions but today I am doffing a Fedora and, if anyone asks, I am cosplaying a fellow American who is down on his luck.
So, once I get this posted and on the road, I am Cyphacon bound.
